Leicester Magic Circle’s At Home shows are an unforgettable and unique experience, a sophisticated entertainment format designed to provide an intimate environment for watching some fantastic and baffling magic.

First held in 1969 the At Home nights were hugely successful and largely retain their original format, quite different to any other type of entertainment available. The audience sit in groups of around ten at six small tables, whilst six close-up table magicians perform minor miracles and wonders for them. Each performer performs for around ten minutes at a table before all six simultaneously move on to the next table in turn. An interval of five minutes between the acts allows the audience to purchase drinks from the private bar.

After the first three acts, there is an intermission for the serving of a buffet, and the evening is rounded off with a cabaret act, usually a modern illusion or a colourful silent act. These At Home performances take place in the luxury of the Grand Hotel in Granby Street, Leicester, generally on Thursday evenings in an atmosphere specially created by the members. The accent is on fun and enjoyment and the number of repeat bookings tells the story of their success in achieving this.
