Let us know what you've been up to!!
Keep us updated with what you have been up to –
it doesn’t have to be showing – have you attended
a good clinic, found a local supplier of veils, been on a sponsored
ride or taken your horse hunting side saddle? Let us know!
Got the saddler coming to stuff your saddle?
Why not invite others to share the appointment and cut the cost
of the call out. Use this space to let everybody know!
Show Reporters:
We would like to include as many 2010 results as possible, but
we need your help! We aren’t always able to attend every
show, so would be grateful for any contributions in the form of
photographs, write ups or results.
Helpers:
It goes without saying that shows cannot run without help on the
ground. We are always grateful of anybody who is able to help
at Area 12 events – even if only for an hour – don’t
wait to be asked, if you can spare the time (or think your other
half can, please step forward)
Draycott House:
Charles and Lynne Hirons at Draycott have been very supportive
of Area 12, providing the venue for the Spring Show.
In return they ask for help at their events –
BE, Hunter Trials and the Pony Club National Championships.
It’s great fun. You can put yourself forward
for anything from fence judging to dressage writing. Draycott
look after you very well, providing a good packed lunch, plenty
of drinks and a tipple at the end of the day.
If you are willing to help at an event, please add
your name to the volunteer page on the Draycott
House website.
Eland Lodge:
If you get the Fence Judging bug, you may also want to check out
the Eland
Lodge website and sign up as a volunteer. They offer excellent
refreshments throughout the day, and vouchers for use in their
shop to anybody who helps!Forthcoming dates when help is required
are: 07th March, 11th April, 16th May, 13th June, 11th July, 23rd
July, 28th August, 19th September, 10th October and 07th November
(British Dressage), 17th April, 18th April, 23rd May, 20th June,
03rd July, 04th July, 22nd August and 26th September (BE, RC ODE's
& SEIB CHamps), and 03rd October (Hunter Trials). If you are
able to help on any of these dates, please contact Eland Lodge
directly.

08/02/10:
Just received your link to the site, and I wonder
if you want me to do a little bit about us to go on there. We
first went to a HAG day at Eland and from there we have become
SS converts!
We have competed in ladies hunter classes and have done ok for
our first season (2009) coming 8th at the RIHS and coming 2nd
in a HOYS Q, not bad for amateurs with a borrowed saddle and a
homebred coloured horse! We have even featured in Country Life
magazine!
Just like to say, without Lottie and Donita at the HAG day we
would not have known where to start!!
Thankyou! Kerrie Ibbotson.
