The course is available to anyone over the age of 12 years who is interested in learning more about the upkeep of horses and furthering their knowledge and skills.

Level one consists of one lecture per week (roughly 2 hours in duration) for 7 weeks, followed by a short exam on week 8. Cost is £13 per week plus £20 for the exam.

Lectures are classroom based at Griffydam, although there will also be a number of practical lectures on the yard (therefore appropriate clothing must be worn).
